Вам известно, кто такие Erebus Enthroned? Какой бы не был ваш ответ, он уже порядком запоздал, ибо данная Black Metal формация распалась на антикосмические молекулы в прошлом году. Но из пепла умершего, в сиянии черного первозданного пламени, возрождается новое создание. Тварь, гомункул, инфернальное создание, курируемое самым верным и преданным из возвещателей апокалипсиса. Хоть мной и рассказывается новость о дебютном альбоме австралийской формации, но стоит отметить также факт того, что это далеко не первый релиз, который был изрыгнут бездной за всё время существования Ignis Gehenna. Основанной после исхода середины 00-ых (2007), Ignis Gehenna выпустили демо "Ecclesia Diabolus" (2008) и EP "Revelations of Sinister Rebirth" (2010), которые, хоть и являются, по заверению авторов, "короткими треками фанатизма и кровопролития с упоительно-уродливым звучанием", уже выпущенны в издательских конторах (EP издал корейский Misanthropic Art prod.) и принёсшие некоторый интерес к банде со стороны многострадальных поклонников. Всю музыку делает Nihilifer (из упокоенных Erebus Enthroned), а лирику пишет Archfiend (из Штатов Америки). Последнего можно было бы не учитывать, будь лирика Ignis Gehenna столь проста и неприхотлива. Но это далеко не так, ибо написание сложных и многоуровневых текстов требует затраты времени и сил не меньшие, что требуются музыканту. А Nihilifer довольно неспешно писал музыку всё это время, но только перебравшись в прошлом году в отдалённую часть Австралии, стал писать её активней. Таким образом, "Baleful Scarlet Star" был полностью завершён.
"Baleful Scarlet Star" состоит из шести треков мощнейшего и динамичного Люциферианского Black Metal общим хронометражом в 80 минут. В данный момент идёт работа над вторым полноформатником, который увидет свет ещё очень и очень не скоро. Но ощущаемо высокий уровень вдохновения автора - это хороший знак, следовательно новое творение автора лежит не за горами. Что касается "Baleful Scarlet Star", то он будет выпущен 9 января 2017 года на австралийском Séance records. Заглавный трек "Seprent Oracle" можно послушать ниже.
Today, Séance Records sets January 9th, 2017 as the international release date for Ignis Gehenna's highly anticipated debut album, Baleful Scarlet Star.
The seeds of Ignis Gehenna were sewn in 2007 by Erebus Enthroned singer Nihilifer and Archfiend. Based in Australia, Nihilifer crafted the music while Archfiend, from the USA, penned lyrics. These initial works expressed the devilry of youth and a crude demo was recorded, entitled Ecclesia Diabolus. In 2010, the band produced the EP Revelations of Sinister Rebirth, released through the Korean label Misanthropic Art. An entrancing-yet-ugly sound pervaded this short work of bloodshed and fanaticism.
In the years of silence since, Nihilifer has continued Ignis Gehenna as a purely solo work, slowly writing music and creating lyrics to reflect experiences, insights, and visions of his idiosyncratic path. The work was finished upon relocating to a remote part of Australia where isolation allowed his creative vision to flourish. It is now in the late months of 2016, when the fires of spring are burning anew, that the debut album, Baleful Scarlet Star, shall be released on Séance Records in the early new year, after spending many years behind closed doors, echoing within its composer's mind.
Baleful Scarlet Star features six lengthy songs of dynamic and powerful Luciferian black metal. This remarkable solo work by Nihilifer expands upon and surpasses Ignis Gehenna’s former forays in musical composition in terms of complexity, atmospheric subtlety, and lyrical craftsmanship. The music is powerful, melodic, and inspiring, igniting the dark recesses of imagination to conjure potent visual imagery and enticing the mind and soul to explore hidden facets of the human specter. Nihilifer is known for his powerful vocal style and penning lyrics which are thought-provoking, intelligent, and filled with metaphor. He has created an album which is not only grandiose but also deeply conceptual.
Originally upwards of 80 minutes of music was recorded for Baleful Scarlet Star, but two tracks have been held back so as to allow time and experience to fulfill these remaining songs, which were at the time unfinished lyrically. Musically and conceptually, they belong together and will be released on the second Ignis Gehenna album, which Nihilifer is currently working on for release in 2018.
