«Следуя тому же курсу, что и ‘Heimweh’, ‘Firebrands and Ashes’ углубляет смесь «Кром Дабского» чёрного метала второй волны, наполненного пост-роком и опирающегося на народные традиции Европы и Ближнего Востока. ‘Firebrands…’ был записан Грегом Чандлером (Esoteric) в Priory Studios, избегая чрезмерно насыщенных, передержанных клише post-Black Metal`а в пользу прямолинейного подхода старой молотильной школы. ‘Firebrands and Ashes’ вдыхают жизнь в призраков последнего праха, призывая духов прошлого и будущего, дабы пели они песни умирающего мира.»
«In pursuing the same course as ‘Heimweh’, ‘Firebrands and Ashes’ deepens Crom Dubh’s blend of epic second-wave black metal, infused with post-rock and drawing on the folk traditions of Europe and the Middle East. ‘Firebrands’ was recorded by Greg Chandler (Esoteric) at Priory Studios, avoiding the over-saturated, delay-ridden clichés of post-black metal in favour of the up-front, stripped down approach of old school grindcore production. ‘Firebrands and Ashes’ breathes life into the ghosts of the last dust, summoning spirits of the past and future to intone the threnodies of a dying world.»
Альбом состоит из 7-ми композиций, каждая из которых представляет собой путешествие вглубь традиции языческой прошлого, сочетая отточенность философского подхода великих правителей древности и видениями красот от писателей и художников не так давно ушедшей действительности. ‘Firebrands and Ashes’ выйдет на виниле и CD лимитированными и пронумерованными вручную копиями.
The album consists of 7 compositions, each of which represents a journey deep into the tradition of the pagan past, combining the refinement of the philosophical approach of the great rulers of antiquity and visions of beauty from writers and artists of not so long ago gone reality. ‘Firebrands and Ashes’ will be released on vinyl and CD as limited and hand-numbered copies.
